The Percy Priest Lake is situated in between six and seven miles of the Stone River. It is approximately 10 miles away and is visible from east of downtown Nashville. Percy Priest Lake consists of 14,200 acres that covers the parts of Rutherford, Wilson and David Counties. The lake and dam got its name after the great Congressman Percy Priest. The dam, lake, powerhouse and public land are under the management of the United State Army Corps of Engineers under the direct supervision of the district engineer of Nashville. It is the home of the Vanderbilt Sailing Club and Marina.
The Percy Priest Lake offers different outdoor entertainment opportunities for many tourists every year. Visitors have the chance to enjoy many activities, done in Percy Priest Lake like boating, fishing, hunting, camping, picnicking, horseback riding, canoeing, hiking and more.
