The Old Hickory Lake

The Old Hickory Lake is found along Cumberland River in the Summer Davidson County, Tennessee. It is near to the Metropolitan Nashville, Tennessee. This lake takes its name after President Andrew Jackson, whom is also known as Old Hickory. Jackson lived in the district of Hermitage. A dam was constructed in January 1952 within the lake and was completed around 1954. The lock, dam, powerhouse and the lake are being managed and administered by United State Army Corps of Engineers.

There are safety guidelines and tips to follow to enjoy fully the Old Hickory Lake, but there is no substitute for a sharp common sense when called for.
