Nashville was taken over and developed by the Union forces to be the most equipped city of North America right after its captivation in 1862. It took them only 3 months to build the fort. The remains of Fort Negley remind us always of this historical event. The fort is strategically established on a hill in the south portion of Nashville downtown at the convergence of Interstate 65 and Interstate 40, beside the Cumberland. The Fort Negley complex most exhibits and displays are about European forts.
Today, Fort Negley is now a popular museum, usually crowded with children in a learning tour mostly about Science as well as History. Fort Negley is a good place to study for those science-minded fans! It has the Adventure Science Center which houses many hands-on displays and exhibits about most science topics and subjects. To name a few, there is earth science, imagination and creativity sciences and also space and air topics. Energy, health study areas and light and sound subjects as well. One of the great and popular must see here is the replicated flight over the Nashville state. Here we can find also the planetarium on of the center’s main attraction. It has film showing schedules mostly tackling the topics on Nashville skies.
